About the Role

micro1 is hiring a National Park Ranger (or visitor services staffer) to help improve AI systems that answer national park questions. What You'll Do

  • Review sample national park questions and flag any that don't sound like real visitor questions
  • Write rubrics defining a correct, complete answer on park passes, entrance fees, permits, and reservations
  • Cover park regulations, visitor safety, and trip planning in the rubrics
  • Score AI-generated answers against the rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance
  • Share clear written feedback with the project team asynchronously

Requirements

  • Current, former, or seasonal National Park Service experience (ranger, interpretive ranger, or visitor services)
  • 1+ years answering visitor questions or handling passes, permits, reservations, or fees
  • Working knowledge of park regulations and visitor safety
  • Must be US-based, able to start quickly, and commit 15-25 hours/week
  • Clear, precise writing

Paid hourly at $50-$150/hr depending on experience, for a short-term remote contract at 15-25 hours/week.
