How Much Does Micro1 Pay? Listed Hourly Rates by Field

Micro1 listings on SOJI span an enormous range: entry-level data tasks start at roughly $6 to $10 per hour, while senior expert roles list $300 or more, and the median of the listed minimums is about $45 per hour. The platform's catalogue mixes two very different kinds of work, so a single average hides more than it shows.

All figures are listed on SOJI at time of writing (Oct 2026), vary by project, and describe what listings show, not what people earn.

The headline numbers

SOJI currently publishes 350 Micro1 jobs, which is most of the 395 active jobs on the site.

MeasureListed on SOJI (Oct 2026)
Micro1 jobs counted350
Median of listed minimumsabout $45 per hour
Entry-level data tasks (e.g. video recording, annotation)about $6 to $10 minimum
Senior expert roles$300+

Outliers were removed, and per-task roles were excluded or described in text. The spread is wide because Micro1 lists both expert review roles (law, medicine, finance, engineering, coding, languages) and data tasks such as video, voice or selfie recording, annotation and transcription.

Listed rates by field

The table below covers all listings on SOJI, both Micro1 and Mercor. Because Micro1 makes up roughly nine in ten of them, it largely reflects the Micro1 catalogue, but it is not Micro1-only. For the Mercor side, see how much Mercor pays by field.

Small categories, such as education with 5 jobs or robotics with 6, can swing a lot from one listing, so read them as rough indications.

What stands out

  • Expert fields cluster at the top. Legal, finance, consulting, science and generalist AI-evaluator roles list typical minimums around $80 to $100.
  • Software engineering is the biggest single field by job count (53), with a median minimum near $50. A wide spread, and the range of tasks is broad.
  • Data collection and annotation sits near the bottom, with a typical minimum around $13. These are the entry-level tasks that anyone can try, and they are priced accordingly.
  • Languages start lower than you might expect, around $20, though some specialist language roles list much more. If you speak more than one language, our post on bilingual and language experts in demand for AI training explains where the demand tends to come from.

Why listed pay is not what you will earn

Treat every figure as an advertised rate, and keep these points in mind:

  1. Hours vary. Many roles are project-based, with variable volume. Some listings are described as flexible, others as limited.
  2. Some roles are per task. A per-task payment needs converting before you can compare it with an hourly rate. Our guide on hourly vs per-task pay in AI training jobs walks through how.
  3. Selection is not guaranteed. Applying does not mean you will be hired.
  4. Data tasks can involve your personal data. If a role asks for recordings of your voice or face, weigh the pay against what you are sharing. See AI data-collection jobs: are they safe?.
  5. Taxes and payment costs are yours to check. Independent contractors generally handle their own taxes, and transfer or conversion fees can reduce what you receive. This is general information, not tax or legal advice. Check your country's rules or ask an accountant.
  6. Follow the listing. We do not describe payment methods or steps beyond what each listing shows, because they can differ by role.

Key takeaways

  • Micro1's catalogue ranges from about $6 to $10 for entry-level data tasks up to $300+ for senior experts.
  • The median listed minimum across Micro1 jobs is about $45 per hour (Oct 2026).
  • Field and seniority explain most of the difference: legal, finance, consulting and science list higher minimums than languages, data collection or robotics.
  • Compare units first, then rates, then restrictions, then the task description.

Limitations

These numbers are a snapshot taken with outliers removed, and they will move. They are not a forecast of income and cannot tell you how many hours you would get. No one, including SOJI, can promise you work or a particular result. To see live rates, browse Micro1 jobs on SOJI or the full jobs list.

SOJI is an independent job board and is not affiliated with Mercor or Micro1. If you apply through our referral links and are hired, SOJI may earn a commission at no cost to you, and this does not affect which jobs we publish. Read more on our About page.
