Life Sciences Research Expert (Python)

About the Role

Micro1 is seeking life sciences researchers with hands-on Python skills to create, solve and review research problems that evaluate and improve advanced AI systems. Fields include medicine, computational biology, neuroscience, molecular biology, genetics, ecology and biostatistics.

What You'll Do

• Create and solve rigorous scientific problems in your area.
• Build reproducible Python analyses, models, simulations or data workflows.
• Review scientific solutions and code for correctness, clarity and completeness.

Requirements

• PhD, MD or master's degree with substantial life sciences research experience.
• Research background shown by publications, thesis, computational projects or industry work.
• Practical Python for scientific computing, with tools like NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, scikit-learn or Jupyter.

Compensation & Logistics

Contractor role, about 15 hours per week, fully remote and global with flexible hours including weekends. Listed pay is $60-$120 per hour, but compensation is output-based: experts are paid per task meeting project specifications, and minimum weekly submissions apply. Process: screening questions, a roughly 30-minute AI interview, hiring manager review. Roles are typically filled within 48 hours, and first tasks start 24-48 hours after onboarding.
