UX/UI Designer Expert
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to engage experienced UI/UX and product designers for a project evaluating how well AI systems perform real-world digital product design work. Rather than producing deliverables yourself, you'll define what excellent work looks like.
What you'll do
- Design precise, task-specific grading criteria for real-world digital product and UX deliverables (design systems and component libraries, responsive UI layouts and dashboards, end-to-end product flows such as onboarding, checkout, and booking, logged-in customer portals, UX writing, and design-to-engineering handoff)
- Score AI-generated and human work samples against those criteria, with detailed written justifications
- Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment so scores are reproducible and defensible
- Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and iterate quickly
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX, or design systems for real digital products (not brand or marketing sites)
- Background at a leading digital-product/UX studio, in-house product-design team, or e-commerce/marketplace company with sophisticated dashboards
- Deep fluency in interaction and visual design, design systems, responsive layouts, and Figma prototyping/handoff
- Exceptionally strong written communication
Pay & logistics
$80–$150 per hour. Independent contractor role, paid weekly via Stripe or Wise. Fully remote. Not available to H1-B or STEM OPT candidates.
