Website Designer (UK-Based) — AI Training
About the Project
Mercor is recruiting UK-based Website Designers with experience at leading design studios for a research project with a leading frontier AI lab. We're seeking website designers with a proven track record of designing world-class digital experiences, with a strong preference for candidates with experience at Pentagram. This role is specifically focused on website and digital experience design, not brand identity or logo design. Candidates should have portfolios that demonstrate excellence in website design, UX/UI, interactive experiences, marketing sites, editorial platforms, or digital products.
What You'll Do
You will contribute high-quality training data for frontier AI systems, helping create, review, and evaluate high-quality website design examples and digital experiences — leveraging your expertise in visual design, user experience, and contemporary web design standards. Strong candidates can critically assess the quality, usability, and visual execution of modern websites. Successful contributions increase the likelihood of being selected for future Mercor projects.
Ideal Experience (one or more of)
- Designing high-quality websites for leading technology companies, global brands, startups, or cultural institutions
- UX/UI design for web-based products and digital platforms
- Responsive web design and modern design systems
- Interactive, editorial, or marketing website design
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver polished, production-ready digital experiences
Preferred Firms (one or more of)
Pentagram, AKQA, DesignStudio, Koto, ustwo, or another leading UK-based digital design studio with an exceptional website design portfolio.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United Kingdom with the right to work in the UK
- Note: Mercor is unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
Compensation & Logistics
- Type: Independent Contractor
- Compensation: Confirmed in offer, paid weekly via Stripe or Wise
- Location: Remote (must be based in the UK), available up to 40 hours/week on your own schedule
