About the Role

A leading AI lab is hiring practicing mechanical engineers to improve how frontier models reason about real engineering work. The role is W-2 with Cincinnatus LLC, with an initial engagement of 2 to 3 months and a strong possibility of extension. Client-issued accounts and equipment are provided.

What You'll Do

  • Review mechanical engineering tasks and model outputs for wrong assumptions, missing constraints, unit and tolerance errors and unsafe designs.
  • Write instruction specs and worked reference solutions, and define new realistic tasks.
  • Design challenging evaluation sets across mechanical design, thermal and fluid systems, structural analysis, manufacturing and controls.
  • Calibrate standards with client researchers and specialists in adjacent fields.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a close discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on industry experience owning real designs or analyses (FEA, CFD, drawings, design reviews, production).
  • Fluency with tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, ANSYS, Abaqus or MATLAB, and codes such as ASME, ASTM, ISO and GD&T.
  • Progression toward senior or lead responsibility; a PE license is a plus.
