About the Role

Mercor is looking for deeply hands-on engineers who have integrated, tested, validated, debugged or qualified complex physical and electromechanical products, to support an advanced engineering and AI research initiative with a leading technology organization. Relevant backgrounds include systems engineering, integration and test, reliability and failure analysis, and manufacturing test.

What You'll Do

  • Review system requirements, interfaces, integration plans, verification strategies, test procedures and qualification approaches.
  • Analyze interactions across electrical, mechanical, firmware, thermal, controls and manufacturing domains.
  • Diagnose integration failures and find root causes, reliability risks, manufacturing defects and test coverage gaps.
  • Develop or review rigorous engineering problems, reference solutions, test cases and failure analyses.
  • Give clear technical feedback grounded in real hardware development experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional systems, integration, reliability or test engineering, including 3+ recent hands-on years (not only management).
  • Responsible-engineer experience on complex hardware products across requirements, integration, V&V, qualification and production.
  • Depth in one core domain such as V&V, hardware integration and test, reliability, or manufacturing test.
  • Command of FMEA/FMECA, fault isolation, root-cause analysis, environmental testing and design for test.
  • Background in aerospace, space, automotive, semiconductors, consumer electronics, robotics or medical devices is preferred.

Compensation & Logistics

$100-$120 per hour on a part-time, flexible engagement (the listing shows 40 hours per week as the maximum). Remote, no location restriction stated.
