Senior Multiline Claims Examiner
About the Role
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to train frontier models on high-quality insurance reasoning data. We're hiring senior multiline claims examiners to design realistic claim-handling scenarios, evaluate model outputs against established claims standards, and help shape how AI reasons about coverage, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and resolution. Carrier examiners, desk adjusters, field adjusters, TPA professionals, and independent adjusters with property, auto, casualty, or specialty P&C experience are welcome.
What You'll Do
- Design realistic claims scenarios covering first notice of loss, coverage verification, investigation, documentation, reserving, damage evaluation, negotiation, settlement, subrogation, salvage, and closure
- Create work products such as claim action plans, coverage analyses, investigation requests, evaluation summaries, settlement recommendations, and insured communications
- Write "golden" reference responses at experienced claims-professional quality
- Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics for factual accuracy, policy application, judgment, and procedural completeness
- Flag premature conclusions, missing investigative steps, unsupported valuations, and improper communications
- Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior
- Join onboarding office hours
Requirements
- Experience as a carrier claims examiner, desk/field adjuster, TPA professional, or independent adjuster handling property, auto, casualty, or specialty P&C claims
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Comfortable grading written work against structured rubrics
- Based in the US, Canada, UK, or one of the other eligible countries
Compensation & Logistics
- All experts are paid a flat $800 upon successful completion of onboarding (roughly 10 hours), then convert to $80/hour
- Remote, contract work via Mercor
