About the Project

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab on a benchmark dataset project evaluating AI models on visual document understanding and instruction-following in the real estate appraisal domain. Experts author complex, grounded tasks with a clear ground-truth output and an objective rubric, directly shaping how next-generation AI systems reason over appraisal reports and property documents.

What You'll Do

  • Design grounded tasks based on real appraisal workflows (comps analysis, valuation reports, property condition assessments)
  • Produce expert-level reference outputs with clear, defensible answers
  • Define objective rubrics for consistent evaluation of AI responses
  • Frame tasks that test document interpretation, form comprehension, and instruction-following over appraisal-related visual documents
  • Refine tasks based on calibration feedback and reviewer input
  • Ensure all content is accurate, industry-standard, and free of ambiguity

Requirements

  • Licensed or certified Real Estate Appraiser (Certified Residential, Certified General, or state/national equivalent) in the United States or Canada
  • Active practice with strong familiarity reading and producing appraisal reports, valuation documents, and comps analyses
  • Based in the United States or Canada
  • Able to commit 15-20 hours per week, fully asynchronous and remote
  • Precise written communication, strong reasoning, and attention to detail

Compensation & Logistics

  • Type: Part-Time Contract (Independent Contractor)
  • Compensation: $59.00–$60.00 per hour
  • Location: Remote (United States or Canada only)
  • Commitment: 15-20 hours/week, fully asynchronous
  • Paid weekly via Stripe or Wise
  • Duration: Ongoing, reviewed monthly; projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early based on needs and performance
  • Note: Mercor is unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
