English Teacher

About the Role

A contractor project improving AI assistant quality through real-world task evaluation. Your background teaching English or literature, including everyday parent and student communication and scheduling, informs how AI handles tasks people delegate.

What You'll Do

• Complete realistic teaching-related digital tasks (emailing parents and students, scheduling conferences, booking field trips) using AI assistant tools under standardized conditions.
• Follow detailed task instructions and grading guidelines precisely, including multi-step requirements.
• Give an AI assistant clear instructions, then review its work for accuracy, tone, grammar and completeness.
• Evaluate, rank and annotate responses with a focus on language quality, style, clarity and tone.
• Record findings and submit evaluation data on AI training platforms within project milestones.

Requirements

• Based in the US, with an iPhone with iMessage and a Facebook and/or Instagram account.
• Bachelor's degree in English, literature, creative writing, linguistics, education or a related humanities field.
• Experience teaching English or literature at K-12, college or adult level.
• Strong instruction-following and attention to grammar and tone.
• Daily use of Google Classroom, Gmail and Google Calendar; experience using AI tools.
• Preferred: master's or advanced coursework, prior AI evaluation or labeling work, rubric-writing experience.

Compensation & Logistics

Contractor role, remote, United States only, paid $15-$40 per hour. The application asks for your phone model and Facebook/Instagram profile links.
